Vodafone and Telefonica are going to share their mobile networks

The British operator Vodafone and his Spanish competitor Telefonica announce an agreement to share their mobile network in several European countries. We are talking about the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and Ireland and maybe soon the Czech Republic.

This partnership concerns the use of 2G and 3G existing infrastructure and also on the possible construction in common of new sites. Both operators estimate the savings around hundred millions of pounds.
